An acronym, CIU (Crime Investigating Unit)
Type of Crime Drama:
Forensic/Action
Characters:
Duo,
· Female played by Jessica-Jane Clement. She had just left the Jungle so will be looking for new job aspects. Her character is extremely active and action based and uses brute force to get the information she wants. She is in the centre of all the action and is usually found fighting someone and she carries a signature gun.
· Male played by Don Gilet. His character is very much technology based and he isn’t one to be involved in violence. He takes things like evidence and finger prints and figures out the crime that way.
Structure of show:
Series. 25 episodes, each involving a different crime to solve. Lasting one hour.
Typical Narrative:
My TV drama will be omniscient (open) we know exactly what the investigators know. This lets the audience get in on the action and try and work the crime out themselves. It always starts off in the lab and they get a phone call from the police informing them about the crime. As they are telling them, you see flashbacks of the crime being committed and are shown key pieces of evidence that the investigators don’t know yet. Then, all through the episode, the investigators gather evidence and interrogate people until they finally get a confession.
Setting:
New York City. Scenes partly on the streets and partly in the lab. Street scenes will be very action filled and glamorous whereas Lab based scenes will be gritty and full of technology.
Style:
Gritty/Glamorous . Fast paced. Slick.
Scheduling:
Thursday Nights, 9:30 on bbc and is available on bbc I player encase you missed it.
Target audience:
Young adults both men and women. Adults who enjoy crime based programmes. Social groups A, B & C1.
Similar shows:

USP:
My unique selling point is that my crime drama promotes women and people from different ethnic backgrounds.
